New Look, New Start, New Schedule

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Well, we have a new look! Look for more frequent updates in the future, too.

Things have been very hecktic around the Simbeck Household over the last few months. In Novemeber we all partipated in the Greater Philidelphia Chapter of the ALS Association’s Walk to D’Feet ALS. Our team PopPop’s Patrol raised over $5,000. We also had a bit of tragity in November as well. On November 21st Kaylea’s Grandfather lost his battle with ALS, as one might expect it cast a bit shadow over the holiday season, however we did our best and pulled through.

Patrick had a wonderful Christmas away from home. We spent Christmas with Kaylea’s family, and while it is always a lot of running, we all had a great time, and got lots of great gifts.

The new year brought about many new things for all of us. My company has moved from just outside of Pittsburgh, to just inside the city. This puts me about 10 minutes closer to Kaylea’s work and Patrick’s daycare.

Kaylea has just started into a new position at her work, which hasn’t been without its challenges. And all of this then comes with a new schedule which is working out well for us.

The last big change this year is that I have been elected President of the Board for Project PCOS. Project PCOS is a non-profit organsation that I help found last year with my friends Ashley Tabeling, Linda Harvey, Tarra Hartl and Tammy Dolak. We also have an old friend from another PCOS organsation we use to work with on our board too Stephine Crites.

There are many exciting things going on, keeping us busy so we will do our best to keep you updated. I have posted some pictures of the holidays as well as some more recent ones below. As always you can find all of our pictures in our photo gallery

Patrick is now 8 months!

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Patrick is 8 months old, and doing well! He has two teeth, on the bottom. However, it seems as though there may be more coming in on the bottom. I thought they generally came in a few on the bottom, and then a few on top? Oh well! Anyway, he is still trying to crawl. He has the backward thing working for him, but forward, yeah, not so much. He loves anything that makes noise, lights up, or moves! He is very talkative, and can even say a few words! Patrick can now say: “Daddy” “Ba-Ba” “Ma-Ma” All done” (this one sounds more like Aw-duh), and even “More” (which comes out muh)! He is such a cutie! You can find some of the most recent pictures below. The rest are in the photo gallery.
Can’t wait to see all of you out east!

Our First Tabblo – Photo Book

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

UPDATED – I just got the book in the mail today, and it looks great. I think the next one I do will be a large format book.

So what is a tabblo? Well it is a site where you can create photo books. I created a 4 x 4 photo book of Patrick’s first Christmas. If you would like to view or order, you can see it below.

Then came the big day. Christmas Day at home with Mom
and Dad then on to Grandma Simbeck’s.But we weren’t done yet. We spent New Year’s weekend having
Christmas at Nana’s and Grandy’s and at Nonie and Popie’s.

Then we wrapped up the season with a New Years Party at Grammy Kassie’s.

See my Tabblo>

What do you all think?

Patrick News

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

Okay, after a small impromptu blogging vacation. I have some Patrick news. He had is two month check up, and is growing well. He is up to 13 pounds! He also had his first round of immunizations and is completely and utterly miserable, but more on that later. I will have pictures posted soon. Trying to everything together for Kaylea’s first weeks back to work and Patrick’s first weeks at Daycare have been a struggle but we are finally getting on top of things, and getting into the holiday season.

Its Offical We have a Date!

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

Okay I just got off the phone with Kaylea, and she just got of the phone with her doctor’s office. She is going to have a C-Section and she is scheduled for Monday, September 11, 2006 @ 10:00am EST.

I realize I am behind in the updates and will be posting some backdated updates shortly.

Baby Update – Week 36 & 37

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Okay, so we had an interesting visit with the docotor on Friday. Kaylea is still not close to going into labor, and this baby is big. I don’t think we are going to make it too much longer. The doctor told us that when we hit the magic number of just over 10lb, they will offer a C-Section, and Kaylea said she is going to take it. Taking the baby’s current weight of 8.5lbs, and the normal 1/2 lb a week growth rate (which he has been growing faster than already) we are pretty much there by our next set of measurements scheduled to be done on September 5th. So that is what we are expecting. Otherwise, they will deliever him (probably by C-Section) the following week (the 39 week – week of Sept 10) as scheduled.

I also have two great 3-D images of him. I have posted them below. The rest are available here.
